Laser Hair Removal
DO YOU LOVE THE SMOOTH, SILKY FEELING OF HAIR-FREE SKIN?
LASER HAIR REMOVAL IS THE SOLUTION FOR YOU!
Laser hair removal is a process in which hair follicles are treated with laser light, resulting in permanent hair reduction
or removal. This procedure can be performed on almost any area of the body with unwanted hair. The most commonly treated areas for women include legs, bikini line, underarms, and face. Men can benefit from laser hair removal as well.
The most common areas for men are chest and back but any area with unwanted hair can be treated. Laser hair removal is safe, FDA-cleared, effective and provides long-lasting results. With the introduction of advanced laser technology, waxing, razor bumps and painful electrolysis are finally becoming a thing of the past.

After a laser treatment, the area may feel warm and appear pink. You may experience PFE (perifollicular edema)
which is swelling in the hair follicles which indicates that energy was sufficiently absorbed and the
follicles are slowly being disabled. PFE resembles little mosquito bites and itchiness and redness is normal.
We recommend applying aloe vera to cool your skin and hydrocortisone cream if you are experiencing itchiness. You
should also limit sun exposure on the areas treated by the laser before and after your treatments. It is also important
to use sunscreen daily following any procedure. You should not use any products that may irritate your skin such as
alpha-hydroxy acids or harsh astringents. In addition, you should avoid tweezing or waxing of the treatment area.
You may notice some hair that appears on the surface of your skin within 7 – 10 days following treatment. These
hairs are usually those that have fallen out of hair follicles impaired during treatment. However you will notice some
new hair growth within a few weeks, as hair follicles that were inactive during treatment reenter the active growth
phase. Only follicles currently in the active growth phase are affected by laser hair removal treatments, and different
follicles enter this phase at different times. Therefore, you will most likely undergo multiple treatments spaced
approximately 4 – 6 weeks apart. Although the number of treatments varies by individual, most individuals receive
approximately 6 treatments.
The results from a laser hair removal procedure depend on your skin tone, your hair type, and the growth phase of
the hair being treated. It is important to realize that laser hair removal will likely not prevent hair from growing
completely. However, laser hair removal can reduce hair growth significantly over time giving your skin the smooth
appearance that you desire.
