Amerejuve Medspa Offers Facials and Laser Hair Removal for PCOS Awareness Month

Amerejuve MedSpa and Cosmetic Surgery will provide a free facial for all participants of the 2014 Bayou City Step Challenge 5k, which seeks to raise awareness and support for women with PCOS.

For women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), awareness is the first step to managing the serious condition. Amerejuve is happy to offer a gift of beauty and relaxation (One 30-minute Facial or One Session of Laser Hair Removal) to women with PCOS and their friends, family, and supporters who register for the fun event. The Bayou City Step Challenge will be held Sunday, Sept. 21 at the Houston Downtown Aquarium. The opening ceremony begins at 7 a.m. Participants can also register with the code “AMJ2014” to receive 500 points in the Amerejuve Rewards program. Learn more about the event and register online.

The complimentary Facial from Amerejuve can be scheduled at participants’ convenience after the event at any of Amerejuve’s 10 locations in the Houston area. Participants will also be eligible for special pricing, available at the Bayou City Step Challenge only.

“We are encouraging Houstonians to stand up for PCOS awareness. PCOS affects 1 out of 10 women, and Amerejuve is pleased to offer free services to those who support the PCOS Foundation,” said Tim Brinkley, Amerejuve Vice President of Marketing. “We hope everyone takes advantage of our Complimentary Facial and Laser Hair Removal for PCOS advocates.”

This year’s event marks the third year Amerejuve has sponsored the 5k Fun Run and Walk, and the Bayou City Step Challenge celebrates the strides women with PCOS have made toward diagnosis and management. PCOS can cause a number of possible side effects in women, including weight gain, excessive hair growth, and skin conditions. Amerejuve can help address these secondary effects of the condition with a number of services, including laser hair removal, personalized weight loss, and skincare treatments and products.

Women with PCOS or who think they might have PCOS should also consult a specialist to manage the underlying condition. PCOS has also been linked to increased chance for diabetes, stroke, and heart attack, and it is the leading cause of infertility in women. An estimated 1 in 10 women are affected by PCOS, but only a small percentage of them have been diagnosed. A proper diagnosis of the condition is vital for helping women understand and manage the condition and the risks that come along with it.
