Hyperhidrosis, more commonly known as excessive sweating, is a condition that causes the body to produce an unusually high amount of sweat. People with hyperhidrosis may notice that they are sweating more than usual for no obvious reason. They may experience excessive sweating frequently during the night or when they are not exerting much physical energy. Hyperhidrosis can become a social embarrassment, and can have a negative effect on your personal and professional life. We understand that living with hyperhidrosis can be extremely difficult and recommend that qualified candidates consider Botox as a treatment for excessive sweating.
HOW LONG DO BOTOX RESULTS LAST?
Everybody breaks down Botox differently so the duration of the results will vary. Typically, you will experience relief for around 6 to 12 months after receiving Botox injections. However, exercise and stress can accelerate the body’s metabolic response to Botox so the results fade faster.
BOTOX FOR UNDER ARM SWEATING
Excessive underarm sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis) can cause embarrassment and discomfort for those who suffer from it. Antiperspirants may not be enough to treat the effects of hyperhidrosis. Botox injections are one of the best ways to treat excessive sweating! When injected into the underarms, Botox prevents the nerve signals in the armpit from fueling excessive sweating. Our doctors are able to perform the Botox injections in a short amount of time and without any downtime.
BOTOX FOR SWEATING HANDS AND FEET
Sweaty hands (palmar hyperhidrosis) and sweaty feet (plantar hyperhidrosis) can also be treated with Botox. Sweaty hands is the most common form of excessive sweating and oftentimes can start during childhood. Sweaty feet also cause discomfort and can lead to problems such as foot odor, fungal infection, and inability to wear certain types of shoes. In the same way our doctors inject Botox into the underarms, they can also inject Botox into the palms of the hands and into the feet in order to reduce the effects of excessive sweating.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT LIKE?
Ideally, you should arrive for your appointment with freshly-shaven under-arms. You will have a consultation before the treatment so that we can determine exactly where your sweating occurs at its worst. Your under-arms will be thoroughly cleansed to sterilize the area before any injections are given, and a topical numbing cream might be administered. (Numbing cream is not wholly necessary, but can be used for patients who are extra sensitive or nervous about the treatment.) Finally, you will be injected with a very fine needle which will introduce the Botox to the targeted area, and the entire process takes approximately 30-45 minutes.
HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?
It can take up to a week for the Botox to start working properly. Many people may notice results sooner than that, but it is important not to expect a miraculous sweat disappearance right away.
CAN I USE/RECEIVE BRILLIANT DISTINCTIONS POINTS FOR THIS KIND OF BOTOX TREATMENT?
